Perry Day - 2008
Making his 4th finals in the past 6 years,  Day became the second two time Masters Champion  (and only active one) when he went on a post season run that probably will never be seen again, going 9-1 and winning 8 in a row before dropping a game.  In the first year of expanded playoffs, he swept original member Autograph Mike in a hard fought, back and forth, come from behind series, crushed Rago 3-0 (and avenging his past finals losses to him in their long running history) then going up 3-0 on Masters rookie John Coscia before losing game 4, then dominating game 5 and winning his 2nd title.  In the span of a few short years, Day has gone from Masters laughingstock to possibly the most dominant player in the game.  Can you say "Dynasty"?

*Interesting side fact:  This is the first time that the title is being held by a Masters member not residing in the state of California, as Day moved to Chicago the following week.  Now it's truly a "National" Championship!

Matt Breen - 2007
In year nine,  former playoff-joke Matt Breen finally cracked though and became the 8th Masters champion in the league's history, defeating Masters powerhouse Mark Rago 4 games to 1 in a series that wasn't even that close.  In 3 previous trips to the postseason, Matt was one and done, never winning a playoff series up to this point. Not only did Matt finally shake the "Mr. Regular Season" tag and win a series, he won the whole damn thing.  Not a bad way to shut up the critics.

Perry Day
Mark Rago
Johnny Derango
Bill Vergos

Perry Day - 2006
After 2 past finals appearances (and another finals loss in an east coast tourney the year before) a new day had dawned.........Perry Day, that is. After 8 years in the league, Perry finally got the monkey off his back and won the masters championship, defeating rookie & division champ Johnny Durango in 7 games. It has been said that this was the "most thrilling finals in pig history", as leads constantly changed back and forth, with Durango pigging out at 99, and then Day throwing a Leaning Jowler to take the title!

2006 Roster:

Sean Walsh
Matt Breen
Gary Williams
Joe Coia
Cary Miller
Perry Day
Mark Rago
Tom Haley
Johnny Derango

Mark Rago - 2005
In this year, it was former also-ran Mark Rago who finally was able to put together a decent run and defeat Perry Day in the finals. It was Mark's 7th year in the league. Mark finished 2nd in the division, and was able to knock off division champ Day in 6 games. Before this, Rago had never even appeared in a masters final, let alone won a title.  Rago claimed he had a new theory for his approach to throwing Pigs to which he couldn't tell anyone about.  Truly a turning moment in his Pig career as this was the start of many Championships and playoff appearances in the next few years.

2005 Roster:

Ben Roe
Matt Breen
Gary Williams
Joe Coia
Cary Miller
Perry Day
Mark Rago

Ben Roe - Feb, 2004
This year was the "New Beginning" in Pig Masters history. New players, new format, new trophy, new time of year, and neutral 4-Star Hotel Suite locations. Only 4 original members remained from the inaugural year.  One of the new members also was crowned champion. He was none other than Englishman Ben Roe, who won the tourney despite being so drunk he couldn't count to 100!. It was also the most lopsided tournament in history, as Ben destroyed Cary Miller in the finals with a 4-0 Sweep and many English soccer chants and songs followed the victory!

This year is mainly noted for the fact that there was now a "Regular Season" of sorts played by all players. Everyone plays everyone else 3 times, and after all regular season games are played, the top 4 in the division then meet in the playoff semifinals (5 game series) with the 2 finalists meeting in a 7 game series to decide the Masters Champ. It has often been said that this new format makes it much harder to win the trophy, and some have even gone so far as to dismiss the first 5 years as "A Different Era", especially when combined with the fact that over half of the current masters roster features new members who hadn't played before 2004. From this year forward, it is considered the "Modern Era" in pig history, much like after the deadball era in baseball, the Superbowl era in football, the 24 second shot-clock addition in basketball, and the invention of the slap shot in hockey!

Matt Breen
Gary Williams
Joe Coia
Cary Miller
Perry Day
Mark Rago

Joe Coia - 2003
In year 4, despite home-field advantage for the Ross's, it was Joe who took home the trophy as he defeated Perry in an epic 7 game final to be the new masters champ. This was a very pivotal year in pig history, as both Ross's were eliminated in the 1st round (by Elvis & Gary respectively) which was the final piece necessary to finally remove them from the tournament and overhaul the entire system.  On a sad note, this was the final year for one Mike "Elvis" Greene, who, despite numerous pleas from the Pigs Federation, decided to move back to New Jersey. On the bright side, Elvis finally redeemed himself by eliminating Sam from the tournament in a brutal Game 5.

2003 Roster:

Shane Ross
Sam Ross
Gary Williams
Joe Coia
Perry Day
Mark Rago
Geoff Richcreek
Elvis Greene

Sam Ross - 2002
Sam became the 1st player to ever win the Masters tournament for a second time when she won the title for the 2nd time in 3 years, once again defeating Elvis Greene in the final round. This further angered the original group, leading to a showdown the following year in which the goal of all players was to "eliminate the Ross faction".

2002 Roster:

Shane Ross
Sam Ross
Gary Williams
Joe Coia
Perry Day
Mark Rago
Geoff Richcreek
Elvis Greene

Gary Williams - 2001
Gary Williams faced Shane Ross and did what seemed to be, at the time at least, the impossible. He managed to defeat a Ross and after two years of tournaments the trophy went to another house. Several hours after his victory the trophy disappeared and would not reappear for another 2 months.. (see the Museum page for more details.)

2001 Roster:

Shane Ross
Sam Ross
Gary Williams
Joe Coia
Perry Day
Mark Rago
Geoff Richcreek
Elvis Greene

Sam Ross - 2000
In year 2, it was Shane's wife Sam who took home the golden pig, defeating Elvis Greene in the final in 7 games. But this was not without massive controversy. Sam was an emergency 11th hour replacement for another tourney member, who at the last minute, bailed out on the event.  It was also necessary to add "someone" because at the time, the tournament was done in a "bracket" style of play, which required a minimum of 8 players to make it work, and Sam was willing. The last minute loss of a player made necessary mandatory changes in the way the tournament would be played in the years to come.

2000 Roster:

Shane Ross
Sam Ross
Gary Williams
Joe Coia
Perry Day
Mark Rago
Geoff Richcreek
Elvis Greene

Shane Ross - 1999
In the very first masters tourney, it was Shane Ross who was victorious. After a hard fought quarterfinal & semifinal, he managed to defeat Gary Williams in an epic seven-game series to be crowned the very first champion of all time!
